CSKA Carnabys were narrowly edged out today in a spirited performance against their most distant opposition in Division Two.
In this, the first league game since November, CSKA altered the system to the 3-6-1 formation that gave The Mods a bit of joy at the end of last season.
The visitors took the lead after 15 minutes when CSKA failed to clear their lines and the shot was placed past Shah. Hiran Mistry equalised shortly before half time with a well struck shot from the edge of the box – no more than CSKA deserved after dominating possession and chances throughout the half.
But early into the second half, Gaz Walker was adjudged to have kicked the oncoming attacker and the penalty was awarded and duly converted.
A tough result to take give the pleasing performance and exchanges of passing. Matt Danes in the centre of midfield was awarded Man of the Match with some impressive quick passing that allowed CSKA to build up the play and into the Harborough half.
