CSKA II recorded a second victory of pre-season in Countesthorpe against one of the Alliance League’s newest sides, South Leicester Foxes. And for a second game in a row, youngster Harry Beaumonth took the plaudits, this time with a wonderfully executed hat-trick and man of the match performance.
A bright start from CSKA saw Beaumont head home a Connor Williams free-kick to give The Mods a great start, but Alliance League veteran Shane Birt’s volley flew past the stranded stand in goalkeeper McCafferty to give the home side a surprise equaliser.
Beaumont then curled a delightful second to give The Mods the lead, before Jack Westley prodded home a third and Ricky Patel finished one off just before half-time.
South Leicester Foxes nicked another with an audacious long range effort looped over the outstretched McCafferty.
Harry Beaumont completed his hat-trick early in the second half before unfortunately limping off with suspected ankle ligament damage.
Two late goals from the home side made it a nervy finish, but Ricky Patel added a sixth after a great cross face assist by Josh Lee.
